West Bound Filmworks Creative Director, Ryan Claypool, is an award winning filmmaker and nationally credited television producer based in Portland, Oregon. He specializes in documentary film, television, commercial and educational series creation. Ryan’s 10 years of experience in the industry has taken him far and wide. Documenting a record setting trek through Australia's Simpson desert for Red Bull and Men’s Journal and being encamped with gold miner’s in -30 degree Alaskan weather for Discovery Channel’s Bering Sea Gold have been some of his more memorable highlights. Since graduating with degree’s in Cinema, Photography and Philosophy from Southern Illinois University, he has set his goals toward improving the human condition through motion picture. Ryan has two Emmy’s for his work on Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch and he and his wife just had their first baby in October, 2018.
